NEIL FLINT
VET INSURANCE PROTECTOR
Neil Flint of Vet Insurance Protector (VIP) has been involved in the insurance industry for over 10 years and as a border collie owner and agility fan quickly noticed the importance of insurance cover. When he first arranged insurance for his dog he was not really sure of what he was buying and after a lot of research realised that it was a terribly confusing product to buy. What is lifetime cover? Can you claim for ongoing treatment and many other questions. He decided to review the whole pet insurance market and establish a company that could explain the varieties of cover and tailor polices to peoples needs.
After setting up VIP, Dogs Today magazine, could see that readers were confused about the types of cover and asked Neil to contribute an article regarding pet insurance. After the article they received numerous calls and letters asking various questions about pet insurance. Neil was subsequently asked to write an article on a regular basis answering insurance questions, a sort of pet insurance agony aunt. The column has now run for a number of years and the questions are still coming in.
The basis of VIP is to help people buy the right cover to avoid unnecessary upset when claiming. Nothing is worse than when your animal is ill and removing the worry of who is footing the bill can remove one big worry.
The whole aim is when people buy pet insurance they will know what cover they will have and more importantly what limitations there are to the cover.
